Terms of use

Last updated 7 August 2026 · Sunac Technologies Ltd

These are the terms you agree to when you create a shop on My Duuka. We have kept them short and readable.

Your account

  • You must give accurate details when you create your shop.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password private, and for what happens under your account.
  • If you create an attendant account, you are responsible for what that person does with it.
  • Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.

One shop, one device

A shop is bound to one phone at a time. This is a deliberate design choice, not a licensing limit: it is what keeps your records to a single trustworthy till. To move to a new handset, sign in there - it takes over as your shop's device - then restore your last backup from Settings to bring your records across.

Your data belongs to you

Everything you enter - products, sales, customers, stock - is yours. We store and process it only to provide the service. We do not sell it or share it. See our privacy policy, and you may delete it all at any time.

What you may not do

  • Use My Duuka for anything illegal.
  • Try to break into, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Resell or rebrand the service as your own without our written agreement.

Availability

The app is built to keep working when your internet does not, and your records live on your phone. Our servers, however, may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted online service.

Your records are your responsibility

My Duuka is a tool for keeping records; it is not an accountant and not tax advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for meeting your own legal and tax obligations. If you have backed up your shop online, we keep a copy - backing up is a manual action in the app, so we encourage you to do it regularly rather than relying on one phone never being lost, damaged or stolen.

Cost

Creating a shop is currently free. If we introduce charges, we will tell you clearly and well in advance, and you will never be charged without agreeing first.

Ending things

You may stop using My Duuka at any time. You can delete your account and your entire shop yourself, without asking us - either in the app, under Profile → Legal and account, or on the deletion page. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk, and we will tell you why.

Liability

We provide My Duuka in good faith and work hard to keep it correct and available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits or indirect losses arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
